In Guangzhou will introduce a system of intelligent lighting

Rongwen (China) and Silver Spring Networks (USA) will begin work on the modernization of outdoor lighting in Guangzhou, one of the economic centers of China. The new lighting system will be deployed on the basis of intelligent street LED lights. The total number of LED-lamps is more than 30 000.

The introduction of intelligent lighting is part of the overall project to optimize resource consumption in Guangzhou. The city actively uses Internet of things technologies (IoT), which not only makes the urban environment more comfortable, but also provides an opportunity to attract investment.

The switching on and switching off of intelligent LED lights will be carried out with the help of a central control system, which will significantly reduce the power consumption. In addition, due to the energy-efficient measures carried out, CO2 emissions will be reduced.

Abu Dhabi will modernize street lighting

In the capital of the United Arab Emirates, it is planned to launch a large-scale project to modernize outdoor lighting system. Work on the project will include the replacement of outdated street lights (mainly HPS lights) with modern LED lights. Energy-efficient measures will begin next year, and the completion of modernization planned for 2019.

In addition to replacement of luminaires, an intelligent control system will be introduced to improve the efficiency of street lighting. Automated management will optimize energy consumption, thereby providing additional savings. The luminaires will operate in a reduced power mode at certain time, which will allow to maintain the required level of safety with minimum energy consumption.

The result of modernization should be a significant reduction in the cost of operating lighting equipment, as well as reducing pollution of the environment by harmful emissions. In addition, the use of innovative technologies in Abu Dhabi will improve the quality of outdoor lighting.

IoT-technologies for street lighting in Norway

norway-nb-iot-lightsNorwegian companies Telia Norway and Datek Light Control jointly presented a new energy-saving lamp based on NB-IoT technology (NarrowBand IoT, technology of narrowband Internet of things). Telia Norway has experience of implementing NB-IoT in such areas as agriculture, navigation and smart counters. The innovative development is equipped with a built-in light sensor, as well as an automatic alert function in case of malfunctions.

This lighting solution is quite promising, since the issue of improving the energy efficiency of street lighting for Norway is quite relevant.

IVT became the winner of the ENES-2017 contest

The results of the Fourth national competition of implemented projects in the field of energy saving, energy efficiency and energy development ENES-2017 have been summed up. IVT BelGU became the winner in the nomination “The Best Project for the Modernization of Street Lighting” with the implemented project for the automation of outdoor lighting of a site of a highway in the Belgorod region using the technology of individual control of LED lights.

Earlier IVT BelGU became the winner of the regional stage of the competition. In addition, this year IVT took part in energy-efficient events held by other contestants-partners of the company. Energy-saving equipment of the Belgorod company was used in its projects by two more finalists of the contest, what testifies to the high level of the Belgorod innovative developments.

Innovative outdoor LED lighting in Delbrück

Osram is implementing a project to modernize outdoor lighting in the city of Delbruck (Germany). Work under the project has been ongoing since 2016, and by 2018 it is planned to replace more than 350 outdated lamps with modern LED equipment. The project uses innovative LED lights Streetlight 10.

Thanks to the use of energy-saving technologies, the new lighting system allows to save up to 25 000 kW every year, while significantly reducing carbon dioxide emissions. Also, Streetlight 10 luminaires have a high color rendering quality and are able to provide the necessary brightness of daylight. In addition, if necessary, the lamps can be quickly and easily replaced.

Energy-efficient LED-lighting of bridge in Hanoi

vietnam-bridge-led-lightingPhilips Lighting completed the project to illuminate the Nhat Tan bridge, one of the main attractions of the Vietnamese capital. The project was implemented using energy-efficient LED lamps Philips Color Kinetics. LED-lamps of this model reproduce almost 17 million colors, and its energy efficiency indicators are 75% greater than most traditional solutions.

An important feature of the project is a control system that allows remote control of light settings and monitor the status of lighting equipment. At the same time for “smart” management, cloud technologies are used. The flexible control system will allow to regulate the modes of lighting the bridge during the festive events.

IVT has developed LED lamps control device by GSM-channel

GSM-deviceA new development of IVT is an intelligent control device for LEDs by GSM-channel. Currently, the device is being tested and is preparing to be launched in series production.

Advantages of using the new device is the possibility of autonomous operation without binding to the central control point, the rapid deployment of a distributed managed network, efficient operation in conditions of dense urban development or relief terrain due to high noise immunity.

The new device has replenished the line of energy efficient equipment of the IVT company, which currently provides all types of intelligent control of lamps: PLC, RF, GSM (DALI / PWM / 0-10). The innovative device developed by IVT is compatible with LED lamps of any manufacturer.

Intelligent lighting for smart roads

smart-roads-lightingRealization of the smart roads concept involves the introduction of intelligent innovative solutions in the transport sector. At the same time, an important aspect is the modernization of road lighting with the use of modern energy-efficient technologies. Reliable and high-quality lighting is a necessary condition for the safety and efficiency of the transport system. In addition, intelligent lighting can significantly reduce the cost of electricity, in connection with which the corresponding economic effect from the introduction of such solutions is achieved.

It should be noted that the most effective way to improve the energy-saving characteristics and efficiency of road lighting equipment is the use of modern automated lighting control systems. Such systems allow remote control of outdoor lighting networks and monitor the condition of equipment. Automated outdoor lighting control system “Helios” developed by the IVT is a reliable and energy-efficient solution for the organization of smart roads lighting systems.

IVT has developed a dimmer of the lines of the second generation

dimmer-07062017-3IVT experts have modernized the existing functional of the “Helios” lines dimmer. “Helios-dimmer 2.0” is a new more reliable solution with greater fault tolerance. The device is designed to change the power modes (dimming) in order to flexibly adjust the lighting level, adjust the voltage in the power supply line and maintain this voltage within certain limits, and stabilize the supply of street and industrial consumers.

The new dimmer model is equipped with an operator panel with LCD display, which provides convenient control and data acquisition from the device by the dispatcher. Using the operator panel it is possible to:

  • indication of the current state of the device and management of its operating modes;
  • measurement and indication of voltage and current in the load;
  • setting the desired output voltage;
  • setting the parameters of the device.

The hardware-software complex “Helios-dimmer 2.0” allows to stabilize the suppressed voltage on the line of illumination in the selected range, which makes it possible to significantly reduce energy costs without significant power grid modernization.

The new dimmer functionality provides its effective application for the automation of outdoor lighting of settlements, highways, large enterprises, shopping center areas, parking lots, gas stations and storage facilities, for regulation and optimization of electricity consumption.

Energy efficient smart LED streetlights

Totem Power start-up has developed innovate street lights that can not only accumulate energy by built-in solar panels, but also recharge electric vehicles. In addition, LED lights are equipped with various sensors that transmit data on LTE.

As the company reports, it is planned to install Totem lights in the USA this summer. According to the developers, replacing even one of the ten ordinary street lamps with smart ones will increase the comfort and security of the city infrastructure. So, owners of electric vehicles can be provided with means of emergency recharging, and rescuers will have access to autonomous power sources in the event of an emergency.
